Background

The Israeli Division is participating in the GCA (Guest Controller Approval) program which is in accordance with R & R 5.1.7.

User not being a member of the IL Division, who wants to control a FRA restricted position in the IL Division, Must apply for a prior approval from the IL division training coordinator.

Sometimes, members take practical ATC exams in other divisions in order to obtain a higher rating under exam conditions which are, from a neutral and objective point of view, easier than in their previous home division. Therefore, their rating cannot correctly portray their knowledge and abilities concerning ATC service in the areas they usually control in. For the sake of fairness and respect, we do not approve this behaviour.

Because of the limitation of language, GCA Controllers can apply to the following positions only:

  1. LLBG_DEL
  2. LLBG_E_GND
  3. LLBG_W_GND
  4. LLBG_TWR
More positions may be added in the future to this list, but only positions that use English as the mandatory language.

For this approval the following IL requirements apply, the controller:

  1. Shall have the rating of ADC at the time of application.
  2. Shall be able perform the ATC duties in the English language.
  3. Must have sufficient knowledge of the local procedures of Israel.
  • After changing the Division from Israel to any other, a GCA is not possible within the first year after the Division change.
